In contrast, an interior decorator is primarily focused on the aesthetic aspects of a space, such as selecting colors, fabrics, and accessories.


While both interior designers and decorators can work on a project, the scope of their work is often different. Interior designers typically work on larger projects, such as kitchen remodels or whole-house renovations, while interior decorators may focus on smaller projects, such as selecting furniture and accessories for a single room.
