Tae-hyung, known professionally as V 뷔, is a South Korean singer and songwriter, best recognized as a member of the globally acclaimed boy band BTS. Born on December 30, 1995, in Daegu, South Korea, V developed an interest in music during his elementary school years. With encouragement from his father, he began taking saxophone lessons in middle school, which paved the way for his pursuit of a music career. He later became a trainee at Big Hit Entertainment after successfully passing an audition in Daegu.
V debuted with BTS in 2013 and has since contributed significantly to the group's success, both as a vocalist and through his songwriting. He has released several solo tracks, including "Stigma," "Singularity," and "Inner Child," which have all charted on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart. In 2019, he released his first independent song, "Scenery," and in 2023, he made his official solo debut with the singles "Love Me Again" and "Rainy Days," followed by his debut solo album Layover.
In addition to his musical endeavors, V has also ventured into acting, appearing in the 20 television series Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth. He graduated from Korean Arts High School in 2014 and later earned a degree in Broadcasting and Entertainment from Global Cyber University in 2020. As of 2021, he is pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Advertising and Media at Hanyang Cyber University.
