My design process in Dublin begins with understanding the homeowner’s priorities, whether that means optimizing natural light in a hillside home, creating secluded outdoor spaces in neighborhoods like Schaefer Ranch, or blending modern functionality with timeless materials. Given Dublin’s inland climate, I focus on strategies like cross-ventilation, solar shading, and durable materials suited to the region’s warm, dry summers and occasional wildfire risks. For newer developments, I often incorporate large glass walls to emphasize the connection to the outdoors, while in older neighborhoods, I preserve original architectural details, such as reclaimed wood or built-in storage, while updating them with neutral tones that complement the area’s natural palette. Privacy is another key consideration, achieved through layered landscaping, frosted glass, and adjustable shading systems that allow homeowners to enjoy hillside views without sacrificing seclusion. Every project aims to harmonize the client’s lifestyle with the neighborhood’s architectural language, whether through a sleek, tech-integrated home on Fallon Road or a more traditional yet refined retreat in the Emerald High hills.
