Functionality is equally important, especially in these high-value homes where space is thoughtfully allocated. I design for everyday living: a mudroom that serves as a guest powder room, a home office that doubles as a reading nook, or a kitchen island that functions as both a workspace and a gathering spot for family meals. Above all, I focus on creating fluid connections between indoor and outdoor spaces, using sliding glass doors that blend into the walls, outdoor kitchens aligned with indoor appliances, and furniture that moves effortlessly between rooms and terraces. The aim is a home that feels both spacious and intimate, where architecture and landscape merge seamlessly.

Larkspur’s design ethos distinguishes it from other parts of Northern California by avoiding extremes, neither the hyper-modern minimalism of Silicon Valley nor the rigid historic preservation seen in some San Francisco neighborhoods. Instead, the approach here is *quietly innovative*, respecting tradition while embracing contemporary needs.
